As SNC's new R&D and production base, the new plant will be planned, constructed and operated according to the design and operation concept of "Industry 4.0", using Siemens' advanced product lifecycle management software and "digital twins", covering all aspects of the plant's R&D, production, order management, supplier management and logistics. The result is highly integrated digital manufacturing based on the Siemens MindSphere cloud platform.
Since SNC was founded 22 years ago, its business has grown nearly 70 times. The existing plant can no longer meet the rapidly developing demand of China and the Asia-Pacific market, so SNC plans to expand the product range and significantly increase the production capacity. "This will be one of the largest new R&D and production sites built by Siemens in the world in recent years, and will produce both electronics and motors." "The increased investment in Nanjing reflects our confidence and commitment to the Chinese market and is in line with Siemens' strategic layout of global manufacturing and global research and development," said Li Lei, general manager of Siemens Numerical Control (Nanjing) Co., LTD.
According to the plan, the construction area of the new base is about 70,000 square meters, the production capacity will be increased by two times, and the capacity of further expansion is reserved. Upon completion, all of SNC's existing capacity will be relocated to the new site. The new site will implement the LEED International Green Building Gold Standard and become a benchmark for green and environmental protection enterprises.
Founded in 1996, SNC mainly develops and produces CNC systems, universal frequency converters and servo motors, which are widely used in high-end manufacturing industries such as automobile, aviation, electronics, pharmaceutical, logistics, and new energy, and has a large number of products exported to overseas markets, contributing a lot of tax revenue and employment opportunities for Nanjing. At the same time, it has also driven the development of the supplier system in Nanjing and surrounding areas, and SNC's R & D center has been the second largest R & D center of Siemens after Germany for similar products in the world.
Development of Siemens Numerical Control (Nanjing) Co., LTD:
In 1996, Siemens Numerical Control (Nanjing) Co., LTD. (SNC), a joint venture between Siemens (China) Co., Ltd. and China Oriental Numerical Control Co., LTD., began to produce Sinumerik series numerical control systems.
In 2004, the second phase of the plant expansion, started LOGO! Production of Simatic series products such as S7-200CN.
In 2007, German Chancellor Angela Merkel visited SNC and attended the 10th anniversary celebration and the inauguration of the third phase of the plant.
In 2010, the global management headquarters of Siemens motion Control Standard products was established, and the Sinumerik 808D, 808D Advanced CNC system, Sinamics V20, V70, V90 inverter were developed successively. Simotics 1FL6, 1PH1 servo motor and other popular new products in the market. The products not only serve Chinese customers, but also sell to the world, realizing the transformation from "made in China" to "created in China".
In 2015, SNC successfully introduced a number of Sinamics series drive products from Germany and the UK to accelerate the process of localization and make products more competitive in the Chinese market.
In 2016, the production of Simotics 1FK7 servo motor products was introduced, making SNC a comprehensive research and development and production base in the field of automation products.
In 2018, Sinamics S210 single-axis high-performance servo drive system was successfully put into production at SNC; In the same year, SNC expanded its portfolio with the introduction of the Sinamics G120XA inverter, developed specifically for fan and pump applications.
