Customer cases studied in the report show that implementing digital transformation can reduce CapEx expenditure (engineering spend and time optimization) by 80% and OpEx expenditure (energy consumption) by up to 85%.

The report is based on a study of 230 customers who have achieved tangible, quantifiable business benefits through energy efficiency management and automated digital transformation over the past five years.

Schneider Electric, the global leader in digital transformation in energy efficiency management and automation, has released its 2019 Global Digital Transformation Earnings Report, showcasing strong evidence that digitalization is empowering industry, business and the public sector worldwide. The report presents the 230 customer projects completed by Schneider Electric in 41 countries over the past five years and the tangible, quantifiable business benefits achieved by customers. All of these projects have deployed Schneider Electric's EcoStruxure architecture and platform.
Schneider Electric's 2019 Global Digital Transformation Earnings Report aims to provide users with a useful reference to assess their own digital transformation potential in energy efficiency management and automation. At the heart of the report are 12 key business benefits from digital transformation. These revenues are divided into three categories, each related to the company's performance in the market competition, including: capital expenditure (CapEx), operating expenditure (OpEx), and sustainability, growth rate and performance. The report highlights four key markets in the economy - buildings, data centers, industrial and infrastructure - where digital transformation will fundamentally change the way people live, work and play.

The 2019 Global Digital Transformation Earnings Report dispells concerns that digital transformation comes at a high capital cost, requiring the installation of new operational systems and making it difficult to access existing operational processes. The client cases studied in the report show the opposite result.

For example, research shows that digitizing engineering processes can save companies an average of 35 percent in capital expenditure (CapEx) and time optimization, and reduce the cost of commissioning new systems and assets by an average of 29 percent.

The study also shows that using iot, digital transformation can significantly reduce operating expenses (OpEx), resulting in incremental improvements in efficiency, reliability, security, and sustainability. As a result of digital transformation, businesses and organizations can save an average of 24% in energy consumption.

In industrial applications, digital transformation can help companies achieve a higher input-output ratio and achieve higher output with less energy, materials and man-hours. From iot tracking to automated production lines, energy efficiency management and automation across the value chain can increase productivity by up to 50%.
