Beijing, China, December 11, 2018 - The final of the first Schneider Electric Digital Innovation Solutions Challenge, organized by Schneider Electric, a global leader in digital transformation in energy efficiency management and automation, was successfully concluded in Beijing. The competition focuses on the three major themes of "Distribution, grid digital solutions", "Distribution, grid digital Practice" and "Schneider Electric's existing low and medium voltage products and intelligent software optimization", and the collection of entries covers construction, medical, transportation, data center, electronic manufacturing, industrial and other fields. Ding Xindong from China Southwest Architecture Design and Research Institute won the first prize with his smart power distribution scheme for Chengdu City Concert Hall. They are from China Society of Electrical Technology, Technology Strategy Research Center of China Institute of Electrical Science and Technology, College of Electrical and Electronic Engineering of North China Electric Power University, College of Information and Electrical Engineering of China Agricultural University, College of Electrical Engineering of Beijing Jiaotong University, East China Architectural Design and Research Institute, East China General Institute of Architectural Design and Research, Beijing Architectural Design and Research Institute Co., LTD., Northwest China Architectural Design and Research Institute, China Many experts and scholars from Southwest Design and Research Institute of Architecture and Guangzhou Design Institute attended and participated in the event as judges.

The data show that energy development is taking on a new trend of 2D+2E, that is, more Electric - by 2040, demand for electricity will grow twice as fast as all energy demand; Be Digitized - by 2020, the number of connected devices in the world will be more than 10 times the number of connected people; More Efficient - 82% of energy efficiency potential in buildings and more than 50% in industry; More Decentralized - a new trend in which renewables will account for 83% of new capacity additions by 2040. In the face of increasing demand for energy and improving energy efficiency, digital innovation is becoming the key to solving the problem. This competition aims to cultivate the collaborative innovation ecology of the industry, encourage the research and development and application of innovative technologies, and explore the most creative power grid and distribution digital solutions that can meet the development trend of future energy.
For this innovation competition, Xu Shaofeng, Senior Vice President and head of Energy Division of Schneider Electric China, said: "For various industries and enterprises, digitalization is becoming a must-choose topic from a choice, and this is also true in the energy field. Digital innovation requires bold ideas, professional talents, and an innovation ecology that can integrate all aspects of the industry's production, learning, research, and use. Through this competition, Schneider Electric hopes to stimulate digital innovation in the field of power grid and distribution, provide a stage for more talents in the field of power and electricity to show their talents, and also improve the industry innovation ecology and promote the digital transformation of China's power industry."

In the final program presentation, each contestant fully demonstrated their creativity and design, accurate grasp of the needs of power grid and distribution users, careful exploration of application scenarios, bold attempts at digital technology, and the pursuit of program implementation and details became the highlights of the on-site explanation, and also influenced the final result. The final champion scheme is "Chengdu City Concert Hall intelligent power distribution Scheme" from Ding Xindong of China Southwest Architecture Design and Research Institute Co., LTD. With the goal of building a benchmark project, ensuring power supply safety, realizing efficient operation and maintenance and intelligence, and being economical and practical, the program designed a complete set of digital power distribution solutions for Chengdu Concert Hall from several aspects such as strong power system, load classification, and emergency power supply. Compared with the traditional power distribution scheme, the scheme adopts a series of digital operation and maintenance technologies and products such as POI "cabinet Doctor" fault warning and diagnosis system, PME power management system, digital operation and maintenance management platform "Clairyan", so as to ensure the operation and maintenance initiative of the entire power distribution system, the efficiency of the operation system, and strengthen the shared digital experience of operators.

In addition, Yin Shuang from Shanghai Tunnel Engineering Rail Transit Design and Research Institute won the second place for "Innovation and Application of digital Low-voltage Distribution System for Urban rail Transit" and Sijia from Tianjin University, the only student among the top ten contestants, won the second place for "State estimation research in Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS)". This competition lasted for 3 months, under the purpose of "embracing the future of electricity, building an innovation ecology, and empowering the digital transformation of the energy industry", more than 300 digital distribution, grid solutions, cases and product optimization solutions were recruited for the majority of electric power practitioners and college students.
