Shanghai, China, July 30, 2015 - Schneider Electric, a global expert in energy efficiency management, has announced a deep cooperation with global manufacturing systems integrator Como Shanghai to create a new L8 engine production line for the well-known joint venture automobile manufacturer, Shenlong Automobile Co., LTD. Schneider Electric will provide a complete set of electrical automation, information technology solutions and engineering services for this project to help Shenlong Automobile realize its innovative "industrial intelligent manufacturing" vision.
The automotive industry, as the forefront of automation technology application, has always had extremely high requirements for the automation performance and information and standardization level of the production line, and has become the key area of accelerating transformation and upgrading and practicing the trend of "two integration". In the "Made in China 2025" plan, it is clearly proposed to accelerate the intelligent transformation of production equipment in the automobile manufacturing industry, improve precision manufacturing, agile manufacturing capabilities and other requirements. How to improve the production and operation value of enterprises with comprehensive and complete automation and information solutions has become the focus of the majority of automobile manufacturers.

This project is also Schneider Electric's largest order in the field of automation engineering projects and the largest number of product applications this year.
In this project, Schneider Electric used the most advanced PlantStruxureTM network architecture to provide a complete automated control solution for its engine production line, reflecting the four advantages of scale scalability, flexibility, integration and collaboration. In terms of control system products, Schneider Electric provides a series of electrical control products including PLC, HMI, Advantys STB and ETB IO products, as well as RFID, VSD frequency converter, servo motor and controller products, field safety relays, field operation buttons, etc. Together they form an efficient and flexible automation solution.
In addition, Schneider Electric also developed the AMS (Assembly Management System) engine scheduling software management system for the project, which can manage and track the entire production and assembly process of the engine, and form a complete engine production electronic product file based on the production and assembly process data. The standard project documentation and standard control function modules provided by Schneider Electric standardize the system and make it easier to maintain and upgrade later.
