Siemens launches a digital enterprise evaluation tool for industrial customers in China and introduces the concept of "Digital Enterprise Index". The tool is designed to help Chinese enterprises understand their own digital development process and get targeted implementation suggestions from six dimensions, including strategic planning, organizational management, system integration, production site, data management, and digital application, and find the best entry point and action direction for digital transformation and upgrading. So far, nearly 2,000 evaluation reports have been generated.

"Siemens has a deep understanding and insight into China's industrial development, and we have already provided digital enterprise solutions to hundreds of Chinese enterprises in dozens of industries." Wang Haibin, general manager of Digital Factory Group of Siemens (China) Co., LTD., said, "We hope to rely on Siemens' rich experience in the global digital field and work with enterprises in different industries and at different stages of development to create tailor-made digital roadmap to help customers effectively reap digital dividends."
As digitalization and intelligent manufacturing have gradually moved from theory to landing in recent years, and the market competition has become increasingly fierce, more and more enterprises have realized the importance of transformation and upgrading. The digital enterprise evaluation tool divides the development degree of digital enterprises into five levels in the form of "digital enterprise Index", respectively, from 0 to 4.0 in six dimensions. The overall digital enterprise index of the first batch of enterprises participating in the evaluation is 2.1, which is still in the development stage, and the upgrading potential is huge, and the digitalization degree of enterprises in different industries is different. Some companies in areas such as aerospace and automotive manufacturing have a digital enterprise index of more than 3.5, and have the strength to move towards the vision of "Industry 4.0".

At the same time, the evaluation results show that enterprises have an urgent need for digital transformation, and improving operational efficiency, reducing costs, improving product quality and realizing customized flexible design and production are the main drivers of enterprise transformation. In addition, the biggest challenge faced by enterprises in digital transformation is how to conduct early and systematic planning to develop a digital strategy and roadmap in line with the business, and effectively advance through the enterprise management and organizational structure.
