July 29, 2015 - Schneider Electric, a global expert in energy efficiency management, announced that its new Xi 'an plant, located in the Xi 'an High-tech Industrial Development Zone, is officially operational today. The largest factory built by Schneider Electric in China so far is not only another heavy work after the company's western regional headquarters settled in Xi 'an, but also witnesses the extension and inheritance of Schneider Electric's excellent technology and advanced manufacturing system from Beijing to the central and western regions, and also highlights the strong commitment of a multinational company rooted in China for nearly 30 years to participate in the development of the central and western regions. Zhao Hongzhuan, member of the Standing Committee of Xi 'an Municipal Committee and Secretary of the Party Working Committee of Hi-Tech Zone, Wu Jingyuan, Vice President of the Shaanxi Council for the Promotion of International Trade, Chen Hui, member of the Party Working Committee and deputy director of the Management Committee of Xi 'an Hi-Tech Zone, and many senior leaders of Schneider Electric attended the unveiling ceremony and witnessed this important moment together with hundreds of guests and customers. At this point, Schneider Electric has successfully established a complete sustainable ecosystem in Xi 'an that integrates R&D, manufacturing and logistics, and its functional scope and radiation effect will cover the entire central and western regions and even provide support for global business.

As one of the first multinational enterprises to put forward the "westward strategy", Schneider Electric has been systematically establishing functional departments in the central and western regions since 2011. In view of Xi 'an's superior geographical location, traffic conditions, human resources, industrial base and location advantages, Schneider Electric has set up its western regional headquarters in Xi 'an, and has successively established important functional units such as global research and development center and logistics center here.
In May 2013, Schneider Electric Equipment Engineering (Xi 'an) Co., LTD. (SEEE) was officially established, focusing on the design, manufacturing and sales service of low-voltage complete sets of equipment. The new Xi 'an plant, which is put into operation this time, inherits the core advantages of Schneider (Beijing) Medium Voltage Electric Co., LTD. (SBMV), has the most advanced intelligent manufacturing system of Schneider Electric, lean assembly line technology and experienced management team, and is positioned to "customize" high-end manufacturing for customers in different industries. Together with Schneider Electric's other more than 30 factories in China with different positioning, it will better meet and serve customers in different fields. This not only marks the opening of a new chapter of Schneider Electric's "westward strategy", but also means that it has completed a major layout of its supply chain in China.
Cao Wei, senior vice President of Schneider Electric China and head of the National Sales Department, said: "The 'westward strategy' is an important measure for Schneider Electric to deeply explore the Chinese market, and the official production of the new site of the Xi 'an plant is an important milestone in the process of Schneider Electric's westward development, and Xi 'an's status as a western 'bridgehead' has been further highlighted. In the future, Schneider Electric will give full play to the comprehensive functional effect of the western regional headquarters, and strengthen the development of the central and western markets while better serving customers in the Midwest, and contribute to the economic development of Shaanxi and the entire central and western regions from the aspects of training talent echelon, improving employment structure and promoting the upgrading of upstream and downstream industries."
