American "CONTROL" magazine will publish the last year's top 50 list of automation companies in the world every year, so that readers have a general impression of the world's leading automation companies, which is helpful for readers to purchase foreign automation products and learn foreign advanced technology. Technical definition of automation company
In determining the rankings shown in Table 1, a prerequisite is to define what an "automation company" is, since many large companies are now cross-industry groups, and only the sales of those companies that are automated should be included in the statistics.

Take Honeywell as an example, the revenue in 2022 is 35.4 billion US dollars, but because its business involves aviation products and services, buildings, industrial control technology, automotive products, turbochargers and special materials and other technologies, when Honeywell is included in the list, only its industrial control technology is listed, and its sales in Table 1 are only 3.748 billion US dollars. That's roughly one-tenth of Honeywell's total revenue of $35.4 billion.
As far as "automation" is concerned, different people may give different definitions.
The technical definition of an automation company given by CONTROL magazine in the United States is to provide the following equipment:
· Process automation systems and related hardware, software and services;
PLC and related hardware, software, services, I/O and bundled HMI;
