The GE Fanuc IC694BEM321 PACSystems RX3i controller module is designed to be the master module in an I/O Link network consisting of up to 16 connected I/O slave modules. With a single GE Fanuc IC694BEM321 PACSystems RX3i controller module, it is possible to monitor the status of up to 1024 independent inputs and send responses through 1024 independent outputs to control the application process or machine that implements the system. The installation process for this master module is the same as for any other GE Fanuc module. It can be inserted into any available slot on the GE 90-30 series PLC backplane or GE RX3i system.

GE Fanuc IC694BEM321 Number of PACSystems RX3i Controller Modules The only prerequisite that can be installed in a single network is that the network must be able to provide all the necessary power to the connected devices. Each unit is powered by a PLC or RX3i backplane, and each requires 5 volts of direct current to function properly. The slave module is connected in series via RS485 or RS422 serial protocol. The GE Fanuc IC694BEM321 PACSystems RX3i controller module has a serial port in the front protective cover, as it only needs to be connected to the first slave processor. The rest of the processors are connected one by one in a Daisy chain. The cable connector for this I/O Link network comes with 20 pins and is called a Honda type connector. The operating status of the module can be verified by three leds placed on the top of the front of the device.
