The IC697ALG230 is the base converter module for the 90-70 series Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) platform, formerly manufactured by GE Fanuc Automation and now owned by Emerson Automation. The module is part of an advanced analog system with eight (8) differential inputs that can be configured individually for voltage or current signals, specifically a 4-20 mA current output signal and a -10VDC / + 10VDC voltage output signal with a channel resolution of 16 bits. The IC697ALG230 supports installation directory number "Diffuser module" and "IC697ALG441 Current" expander module IC697ALG440 expander module. These extender modules enhance the functionality of the basic converter module to accommodate up to sixteen (16) channels of the same signal type. The IC697ALG230-based converter module has a built-in analog-to-digital converter (ADC) circuit that converts the received digital data into analog equivalent data with a resolution of 14 bits. A separate low-pass filter is installed in each channel of the module, as well as an optical isolation circuit to provide module isolation for the PLC backplane. The IC697ALG230 supports differential wiring. When using differential wiring, the input signal is measured by the difference between two (2) reference wires. This configuration offers greater resistance to electromagnetic interference (EMI) and is best suited for critical systems that require accurate measurements on a continuous basis. The basic converter module is equipped with forty (40) terminals. These terminals are mounted on a detachable base and can be easily removed with a jack wire knife. The module provides door plug-ins that allow the user to enter a short description for easy identification.
