The IC697CPU780RR, manufactured by GE Automation and Controls, is a single-socket PLC CPU capable of controlling machines and processes in real time. Communication with the I/O and Smart Options modules is done through a rack-mounted connection backplane. To control and operate this PLC, use the built-in control switch or connect the device to your computer.
The IC697CPU780RR has a 16MHz 80386DX microprocessor that can support floating point calculations every 0.4 microseconds. Analog I/O up to 8K is supported, as well as a variety of 12K input and output mixes. The device supports several modules, including the IC697 LAN interface module, bus controllers for the IC660 and IC661, and discrete and analog IC697 I/O modules.
The IC697CPU780 also supports hot standby redundancy applications. Also included are various redundancy features such as CPU synchronization, "no bump switching," 20ms scan expansion, and no single point of failure.
The IC697CPU780RR module is a scalable CPU module designed for hot standby CPU applications. It is available for GE Fanuc PLC, which is part of the GE PLC Series 90-70 series. The redundancy features supported by the IC697CPU780RR module include bump-free switching between PLCS, CPU synchronization, 20ms scan expansion, one-scan switching, single-line repair, and programming and memory parity sum. Other standard features supported by the IC697CPU780RR module include a 16 MHZ 80386DX processor, 12,000 inputs and outputs, 8,000 analog I/ OS, up to 512 KB of memory, software configuration, password controlled access, and 4 status leds. System memory options include 128 KB, 256 KB, 256 KB, and 256 KB of non-volatile flash memory, or 512 KB of total system memory.
