The 8256-016 is an electric governor from Woodward. It supports embedded installation of iFIX for the network, has full-featured OPC for more than 75 protocols, and enhanced visualization, trending, and alerting capabilities. In addition, it uses a standard mechanical relay base with integrated circuit compatibility, an internal RC (buffer) network, operator interface panel /HMI, and RF interference suppression. This product is UL and CSA compliant.
The 8256-016 is capable of single phase synchronization or pressure drop control. For diesel engines with or without starting fuel limits and gasoline or gas engines with starting fuel limits, the 8256-016 should be paired with magnetic pickups in the 3000 to 6000Hz range. For other gasoline or gas engines, the unit should be paired with a 6000 to 12,000Hz magnetic pickup.
The 8256-016-compatible control has a maximum power consumption of 95W, requiring the battery charger to have 5A or higher current when the device is powered on. Every part of the 8256-016 is corrosion resistant. The device is rated for operating temperatures between -40°C and 93°C. The output shaft of the device has a 0.375 "-36 SAE serrated shaft at both ends.
