R-TPD3 is a circuit board made by General Electric (GE) that can be configured and used in many different ways.

In one configuration, the R-TPD3 acts as a control logic board with ten male connection terminals that can be easily connected to the main system and secured by eight screw points around the edge of the board. The board has two small green lights as an indication of light-emitting diodes (leds), more than a hundred resistors and several different types of capacitors for controlling energy flow and storing energy. In addition, the R-TPD3 has protection against surge damage and a switch that controls the energy current through a jumper pin.

In another application, R-TPD3 is used as an I/O expansion module for BRX micro-PLCs, adding digital and analog I/O to expand machine and process control applications. These expansion modules offer a variety of current and voltage signal options, as well as thermocouple, RTD and thermistor input modules, all with 16-bit resolution.

In addition, R-TPD3 has been used in specific projects, such as upgrading gas turbine control systems in Guatemala.
