In the field of industrial automation, Omron, as a Japanese benchmark brand, has been concerned by the industry, and its booth "GATE TO 2025" logo is particularly eye-catching in the automation exhibition area of the Expo.

Mr. Wang Bin, Minister of market Strategy of Omron Automation (China) Co., LTD., told reporters that this year is the first year of China's proposed "Made in China 2025" national strategy, Omron hopes to fully express its association with Made in China 2025 in such an industrial automation exhibition.

To implement "Made in China 2025", informatization is the key. As a manufacturing enterprise, Omron itself is also a practitioner of "informatization", in Wang Bin's view, informatization needs to step by step, first need to understand the industrial site and digitize it, and then collect and visualize the information, on this basis, the on-site problems can be improved and eliminated, and then further self-diagnosis, self-adjustment, and finally intelligent manufacturing. It's a long process. Omron's experience can be shared with Chinese manufacturing customers to help them improve their capabilities.

In terms of intelligence, Omron shows a number of core technologies: vibration suppression, flexible control, high-speed alignment, etc. Wang Bin gave the reporter an example, in the application of the dispensing machine, the impression of vibration caused by high-speed movement and emergency stop will lead to inaccurate positioning of the dispensing pen, and the quality of the dispensing pen will be reduced, and after the use of vibration suppression technology, the speed of the dispensing pen can be increased by 8 times! The application of vibration suppression technology is far more than that. "The core technology of this item is used in industrial sites, which can make equipment performance, efficiency and product yield will be greatly improved, and can meet the urgent requirements of China's manufacturing industry for high-speed production and high precision." Wang Bin especially stressed.

Speaking of innovation, we have seen the launch of many new products such as the NX7 machine automation controller known as "the top performance of innovative manufacturing", highlighting its continuous innovation and technical strength for different manufacturing links. Omron's traditional ILO(Input-Logic-Output) +S (Safty) automation product system will also have ILO+S+R (Robot). Omron this year acquired two U.S. businesses - Delta Tau and Adept - both of which are related to motion control and robotics, and Omron hopes to form a more complete product line in order to provide more comprehensive solutions to customers more efficiently.

Omron has just completed the acquisition of Adept, an American industrial robotics company, which has attracted industry attention. In the robot industry, we are more of a concept of machine replacement, but Omron does not fully think so, they are more thinking about how to integrate robot technology with existing control technology, "how to make people and robots more tacit understanding, more effective cooperation, so that more cost-effective, compared to direct machine replacement, this is a more worth studying a wider range of topics." Omron has a good practice in existing factories, including the factory in Jinqiao. We use some low-cost, high-performance robots to replace the original operators, which is very ideal from the actual operation effect. If customers are interested, we are also very welcome to visit our factory. We would also like to share our experience with our customers." Wang Bin said.

As a crucial PLC part of the traditional "ILO" product system, Omron's marketing strategy is also commendable. As a former Omron PLC user, the author, like Wang Bin, witnessed a difficult scene at that time, when Wang Bin just entered Omron Company. In the face of the world's fiercest competition in the Chinese market, Omron has also developed an economical model of CP1E in China and achieved great success. At present, Omron has a research and development team of more than 200 people in Shanghai Jinqiao base to solve the problem of response speed to Chinese customers. As users put forward higher requirements for high-speed and high-precision control and information technology, Omron made efforts to launch the NJ series and even today's NX7 on the controller. Motion control, basic commands and communications are the fastest in the industry. "NJ (NX) has stronger data processing and analysis capabilities, which can bring new value and competitiveness to customers, and now more and more customers are considering using it to replace and upgrade, such as single equipment upgrading to the whole line control, and the advantages of this innovative product are highlighted," Wang Bin said. This product supports the big data processing function, the data from the production site can be collected and analyzed directly and go to the information layer such as ERP, MES, etc., the PC that needs to be added in the field control layer in the past is no longer needed, which has unique advantages for the "integration of the two".
