On May 15, Guangdong Intelligent Expo and South China Robot and Automation Exhibition (IARS&CMM Exhibition) was launched in Dongguan Modern International Exhibition Center. As one of the important equipment exhibitions in South China, the exhibition accurately matches the needs of the South China market and is committed to mining top intelligent equipment and solution resources. Fei Xi (booth number: A2034) this time also brought mobile phone glue wire polishing, micro screw tightening, PCB motherboard assembly, server plug and unplug test related adaptive robot applications, focusing on showing the technical ability, program strength and industry experience in the field of consumer electronics.

At the same time of the exhibition, Gao Yunfan, marketing director of Fexi Technology, will also attend the Robotics Application Forum and deliver a keynote speech on "Humanized adaptive robots to explore the limits of force control", introducing to the audience the innovative application cases of Fexi to help customers carry out automation upgrades.

Super powerful control to help the automatic production of smart phones

The manufacturing of smartphones has always been a key area of automation. At this stage, with the gradual increase of smartphone functions, more and more SKUs, and faster and faster production iteration, the past automation solutions can not solve the technical pain points of some key processes, and can not be flexible enough and universal, so enterprises still use a lot of labor in these processes, and have to face the problem of difficult recruitment and high cost.
The removal of mobile phone glue wire is a typical scene. The smartphone with 2.5D/3D screen will have hot melt glue overflow in the process of gluing group screen. In order to ensure the exquisite and beautiful appearance of the mobile phone, it is necessary to wipe and polish the spilled glue to make it appear neat and shiny. Based on the industrial force control capability of the adaptive robot, the non-night mobile phone glue wire polishing scheme uses the robot to hold the workpiece, the use of external TCP, through real-time position and speed compensation, to achieve constant force control, and carry out fine and stable polishing operation.

The scheme relies on the high-precision dynamic force control and high-frequency force control response of the non-night adaptive robot, so that the robot can simulate the high-frequency reciprocating wiping and polishing action of the human hand, and ensure the stable adhesion of the adhesive tool to the product surface and the constant normal force, so as to remove the rubber overflow of the rubber line at the R Angle of the middle frame and the transition position, and achieve high quality and stable and consistent polishing effect.

At the same time, the scheme can integrate the two processes of rubber line rough polishing and fine polishing in the same workstation, reduce the equipment floor area and material transfer, improve the efficiency and the consistency of process effect.

Another typical scene is the hinge assembly of a foldable screen phone. The screws used for hinge fastening are very small, generally M1, M0.5 and other small models, and the traditional automatic tightening method based on position accuracy is difficult to accurately ensure screw insertion and firm locking, which brings challenges to the user's production and automation.

After discussing and testing with users, Fexi created a set of micro-screw tightening scheme based on adaptive robot. The scheme adopts force control strategies such as forced-controlled hole search, forced-controlled downward pressure and tooth insertion guide to adapt to workpiece size, Z-direction float and attitude error, so as to achieve high quality tightening with a yield of 99.98%.

Flexible general solution to the electronic field of multi-scene difficulties

In addition to smartphones, based on flexible, versatile technical characteristics, non-flexible adaptive robots can also play an important role in other electronic fields.

The adaptive robot server insertion and removal test application adopts the robot Rizon Dawn series combined with the gripper Grav engine. Relying on the force control hole search strategy and the force control ability of the gripper, it can complete the test task of communication scenarios by inserting and removing a variety of wire harps and interfaces without visual assistance.

In this scheme, the non-self-developed forced-control hole search strategy can flexibly deal with incoming material error and position error in production line or moving scene, and prevent workpiece damage. In addition to the flexible application, this solution can be adapted to a variety of types of plugs/interfaces in the communication scenario, including but not limited to RJ45, USB, optical modules, power cables, etc., in the absence of vision modules and additional special aircraft equipment, you can rely on one machine to complete a variety of tasks. According to Fexi Technology, the overall program can also be upgraded into a common test program in various fields in the future, and can also be paired with perception modules such as vision to complete complex tasks such as wire harness processing.
