Desciption
The Allen-Bradley 1747-M13 is a memory module used in combination with a memory adapter. It is commonly used as backup memory for SLC 5/03, 5/04, and 5/05 processors. Memory should be properly positioned and installed on the jumper. For the 1747-M13 module, the jumper must connect A18 to the center pin. To make the 1747-M13 run with its memory adapter, you should use the 1747-M15 module. This is to avoid damaging memory modules and/or PROM components.

When installing the memory module and removing the processor, ensure that the controller is turned off. This prevents any damage and unexpected failure of the processor. The memory module has a keyed connector to avoid improper installation. Do not expose the module to areas that may generate electrostatic charges. Electrostatic charges can damage, alter, or even destroy the memory of the 1747-M13.

The 1747-M13 is a memory module designed for use with the Allen-Bradley SLC 500 Programmable Logic Controller (PLC). The memory module integrates 64K user backup memory.

This memory module requires a memory adapter module with part number 1747-M15 Series B. If you use the A-Series 1747-M15, the memory module may become corrupted.

The main function of a memory module is to provide a non-volatile memory area for the processor. The SLC 500 processor is equipped with random access memory (RAM) backed up by a lithium battery for at least two (2) years. If the battery voltage is exhausted, the data in the RAM memory will be deleted. This will cause the user program running the process to be lost. After the memory module is installed, the processor will have memory that cannot be erased even if the backup battery is exhausted. This prevents accidental deletion of user programs and unplanned process shutdowns. Each time the power cycle is started, the user program in the memory module is automatically loaded.

Simply connect to the processor and start the program to burn to the EEPROM module.
