Allen-Bradley 1756-ESMNSE is a capacitor energy storage module that is compatible with the 1756-L7x or 1756-L7xXT GuardLogix controller and ControlLogix 5570 controller.
This 1756-ESMNSE module can only be used with a 1756-L73 (8 MB) or smaller memory size controller. If your application requires the ESM or energy storage controller to use up its remaining energy at installation, make sure it is at or below 40 μJ before passing it in or out of the application. The remaining stored energy usually takes 20 minutes to drop to that level.
The energy module comes with a specific controller instead of a battery. This module is used to support maintenance of the controller's WallClockTime when power is unavailable. When the temperature of the controller is between 20 and 60 degrees Celsius, the holding time should not exceed one day. If there is no energy module, when the controller is hard reset or soft reset, the controller wall clock time will be restored to the factory default 01/01/1998.
The 1756-ESMNSE is removable and has no remaining backup power for WallClockTime. This 1756-ESMNSE module has a current consumption of 300 mA at 5.1 volts DC
