The Allen-Bradley 1756-IG16 is a transistor-transistor logic (TTL) input module. To connect the 1756-IG16 to the ControlLogix 1756 case, you need to use either a detachable terminal housing or an RTB. You can use 1756-TBNH or 1756-TBSH RTB. When using this module, you should note that the TTL input is inverted. That is, the low truth format is -0.2 to 0.8 Low voltage = True = On, or if the input is in this range, the input is guaranteed to be on. If it is between 0.8 and 2.0 volts, the input status cannot be guaranteed. If the voltage is between 2.0 and 5.5 volts, ensure that the input is off. The voltage class of the 1756-IG16 module is a 5-volt DC TTL supply (where low means true). It operates in a voltage range of 4.5 to 5.5 volts DC with a maximum P-P ripple of 50 millivolts. It has a nominal input current of 3.7 MA at 5 V DC and a maximum input current of 4.1 mA at 5 V DC. In the off state, the maximum voltage is 2 volts, while the maximum current is 4.1 mA. It has a backplane current of 110 mah at 5.1 volts DC and a backplane current of 2 mah at 24 volts DC with a backplane power of 0.61 watts. The current consumption of the module at 5.1 volts of direct current is 2 mA at 24 volts. The maximum power consumption at 60 degrees Celsius is 1.4 watts. At 60 degrees Celsius, heat dissipation up to 4.8 BTU/ hour Input delay times for the screw to the backplane are as follows: "Off" to "On", or 5 to 0 V DC conversion, nominal hardware delay of 270 microseconds, up to 450 microseconds, plus user selectable filtering time of 0, 1, or 2 milliseconds. At "on" to "off" or 0 to 5 volt DC conversion, it has a nominal hardware delay of 390 microseconds and a maximum of 700 microseconds, plus user selectable filter times of 0, 1, 2, 9 and 1 millisecond.
