The Allen-Bradley 1756-L72EROMS is an Armor GuardLogix controller. It comes with 2 channels, a 4 MB standard memory, a 0.98 MB I/O memory, and a 2 MB secure memory, allowing standard and secure communication options over EtherNet/IP networks. The controller has a maximum analog I/O of 4000 and a maximum digital I/O and total I/O of 128,000. The 1756-L72EROMS also comes with an additional 1 GB SD card memory, which is already installed to the controller, but you can upgrade it to 2 GB.
The controller supports up to 256 EtherNet/IP and 128 TCP network connections per network module. Note that the 1756-L72EROMS controller does not have controller redundancy. Available programming languages include structured text, Sequential Function diagrams (SFC), relay ladder logic (RLL), RLL-only safety tasks and additional safety application instructions, and function block diagrams. The controller has one Ethernet RJ45 Class 5 port and one full speed USB port. This isolation has been type-tested for 60 seconds at 707V DC, from the power supply to the chassis, from the non-redundant Ethernet channel to the non-redundant Ethernet channel, and from the Ethernet channel to the power supply, but there is no isolation between the redundant Ethernet channels. The controller has a non-replaceable fuse that is soldered in place to prevent fire hazards due to short circuit conditions.
