Allen-Bradley 1756-L84ES is a GuardLogix controller belonging to the GuardLogix 5580 controller family. The controller is capable of performing standard controller functions, but it can also be used as a security controller.
The Guard ogix controller is compatible with security applications that require Security Integration Level (SIL) 3 and Performance Level (PL) e certified devices. In addition, it comes with 20MB of standard user memory and 6MB of dedicated security memory.

Additional integrated motion enables this controller to perform motion control over Ethernet I/P as it is capable of Serial Clock Communication System (SERCOS) interfaces. Integrated security features include security for EtherNetIP networks (Kinetix drives, PowerFlex drives, security components), distribution and control of secure I/O, and generation and use of secure label data.
The controller supports programming languages specified in the IEC-61131-3 standard, such as ladder diagram (LD), Structured Text (ST), Function Block diagram (FBD), and Sequential Function diagram (SFC). For security tasks, only ladder diagram programming is supported.
The 1756-L84ES GuardLogix controller is a safety controller from Rockwell Automation with unique safety control features to meet the needs of different industrial automation applications. Here are some of the main features and functions of the GuardLogix controller:
Redundancy + comparison working mode: The GuardLogix controller adopts a dual-CPU design, which can execute the same user program once, and then put the two results together for comparison. If the comparison results are consistent, the result is printed; If not, select the safe result output. This way of working is not possible with conventional PLC.
The output will be switched on in case of abnormal situations such as broken signal lines or instantaneous power outages: In case of abnormal situations such as broken signal lines or instantaneous power outages, the output of the GuardLogix controller will be automatically switched on to ensure the stability and continuity of the control system.
Programmability: The GuardLogix controller supports a variety of programming languages, such as relay ladder diagram, structured text, function block diagram and sequential function diagram, etc., to facilitate user programming.
Stability: The GuardLogix controller is designed with industrial-grade, highly reliable hardware and software to operate stably in harsh industrial environments.
Scalability: By adding I/O modules, communication modules, etc., the functionality of GuardLogix controllers can be extended to meet changing industrial needs.
Flexibility: The GuardLogix controller supports a variety of communication protocols and network connections, enabling remote control, monitoring and data exchange.
Economy: Modular structure, small size, light weight, simple installation, convenient maintenance, economic benefits.
Overall, the GuardLogix controller is an efficient, flexible, reliable and affordable safety controller for a wide range of industrial automation applications.
