Desciption

The Allen-Bradley 1756-OB16D is a ControlLogix DC diagnostic output module. It has 16 diagnostic outputs available, each set of 8 points, and has been fused electronically on a point by point basis. You can install it in any available slot in a compatible ControlLogix chassis. However, a 36-bit detachable terminal housing (RTB) is required for this purpose. The RTB can be 1756-TBCH or 1756-TBS6H. Before installing a module using an RTB, ensure that the chassis and power supply are installed and grounded.



The 1756-OB16D module has the same following features as other output modules: output data echo, multiple output point densities, configurable point level output states, electronic fusing, and isolated and non-isolated output modules. It also allows you to configure various functions of the module, especially no-load detection, output verification detection, output state in fault mode, output state in program mode, transition from program state to fault state, and diagnostic latches.



The 1756-OB16D module has short-range diagnostic functions of 8 A (180 ms) (minimum) and 10 A (120 ms) (minimum). The no-load function is only used for off status detection, and the output verification is only used for on-status detection. The pulse test has a user-configurable maximum pulse width. The module also allows you to configure the failure state of each point and the program mode state of each point, where "Off" is set to "off" by default and the other options are "On" and "Hold Last State".



The output module has an operating voltage range of 19.2 to 30V DC and a source voltage class of 24V DC. It also has A minimum load current of 3 mA per point, a maximum off state leakage current of 1 mA per point, and 1.2V DC (with a maximum on-state voltage drop of 2 A). The backplane current is 140 mA at 24V DC, 250 mA at 5.1V DC, and the total backplane power is 4.64W. Its linear derated output current ratings are up to 2 A at 30 ° C (80 ° F), 1 A at 60 ° C (140 ° F), and the rated current of each module is up to 8 A at 30 ° C and 4 A at 60 ° C.
