Allen-Bradley 1794-ACN15 is a Flex I/O communication adapter module. The module supports ControlNet communication, enabling the Flex I/O module to transmit and receive I/O data over the ControlNet network at transfer rates of up to 5 Mbps.
The 1794-ACN15 comes with a ControlNet port that uses Belden RG-6/U. The module not only supports ControlNet communication, but also converts input power from the Flex I/O power supply into backplane power, which is consumed by adjacent Flex I/O modules, enabling them to operate according to their designed functions.
1794-ACN15 has built-in status indicators such as I/O status - red/green; Communication A - Red/green, communication B - red/green. It has an input power supply voltage of 19.2-31.2V DC, 400 mA, and an output voltage and bus current of 5V DC, 640 mA. It can withstand A 14 A surge current of 2 ms.

One adapter can be used with up to eight I/O modules for communication speeds of up to 5 Mbps. The 1794-ACN15 has a maximum power consumption of 3.4 watts at 19.2 V DC and a maximum heat dissipation of 15.7 BTU/ hour at 19.2 V DC. Its surge current is 23 amps for 2 milliseconds, with a maximum current consumption of 450 mA and 330 mA at 24 volts DC. The 1794-ACN15 is mounted on the grounding case for proper grounding via a DIN rail, which allows users to use galvanized chromate steel DIN rails with an open design.
