Added a 32-bit CPU SCADA software module to the T-BOX family of RTU SCADA system products. The new MS-CPU32 is compatible with T-BOX MS modular systems and delivers 100 times the performance of current T-BOX processors. The MS-CPU32 is based on a 505 MIPSPowerPC processor, uses the Linux kernel, includes two Ethernet ports, and supports up to 16 serial ports in a T-BOX MS installation. MS-CPU32 also supports processor redundancy. Two MS-CPU32 modules can be installed in a T-BOX MS rack and run in a master/backup configuration. The T-BOX MS also allows for redundancy of power and communication ports. The significantly improved performance of the MS-CPU32 provides advantages for a wide range of automation applications. In tests by a U.S. system integrator, the MS-CPU32 performed filter backwashing applications with a cycle time of 8 milliseconds, compared to 1 second with a 16-bit CPU, an improvement of more than 100 times. MS-CPU32 also
Event sequence (SOE) recording with a resolution of 1 second is supported.
Information stored at millisecond resolution can be displayed in tables and trend chart reports, as well as in SCADA screens generated by SemaphoreWebForms software. Alert reports also support millisecond resolution, and T-BOX MS can send alert reports to multiple recipients via email. Applications developed to work with the T-BOX 16-bit processor can be converted to MS-CPU32 use simply by clicking on the "Tools-Convert" dialog box in Semaphore's TWinSoft SCADA software programming environment. MS-CPU32 is compatible with TWinSoft version 10.00 or later. The module's robust package is designed for industrial applications in harsh environments. The MS-CPU32 can operate over a wide temperature range and in areas subjected to high vibration and RF interference. Semaphore's T-BOX RTU products are ideal for a variety of monitoring applications in the broadcast, infrastructure management, oil and gas, power, transportation and water treatment and power distribution industries.
