The 4100-234-R Compact Motion Controller by Allen-Bradley is a microprocessor-based motion controller with 4 axes and a remote I/O option but no axis link option. Desciption
The 4100-234-R Compact Motion Controller by Allen-Bradley is a microprocessor-based motion controller with 4 axes and a remote I/O option but no axis link option. It uses the Intel i960 microprocessor with a 16MHz processor speed, and an efficient multi-tasking operating system (with up to 10 tasks at a time) that allows for up to 2,000 user-values processes, stored as a 16-bit floating point number in a write-protected battery-backed volatile memory, with 10 years of battery life and data retention. The 4100-234-R uses the AC power input supply with an input voltage range between 90 and 132 Volts AC at 47 to 63 Hertz, 3 Amps current, and an I/O input power supply with 5 to 40 Volts DC (24 Volts nominal), at a maximum current of 3 Amps, coupled with a 3 Amps, ¼ × 1¼ ratio slow-blow fuse. Its remote I/O option allows for smooth and easy communication with devices through the remote I/O adapters.

The 4100-234-R also allows for direct connection to the Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) using both the block and discrete transfers. It has 4 isolated configurable analog outputs with a control resolution of 6 bits, 305µV and an output range selectable between ±10 Volts DC or ±150 mA, with ±80 mV maximum offset voltage output at 220Ω voltage resistance. The 4100-234-R, when used in conjunction with the flex I/O modules, provides wider discrete I/O input and output features. A maximum of 8 flex I/O modules can be connected to the 4100-234-R to provide a total of 128 discrete I/O points. These discrete modules provide the 4100-234-R with a maximum 20 dedicated optically-isolated discrete inputs and 8 optically-isolated, open relay discrete outputs. The 4100-234-R uses the GML for programming and the RS-232C for file transmission.
