If you need to access FF process variables in the AC 800M controller, a connection is established between the HSE subnet and the controller using CI860 (Communication interface FOUNDATION Fieldbus HSE).

FOUNDATION fieldbus process data on HSE can then be accessed from the IEC 61131 application in the AC 800M controller. For this purpose, the CI860 module maps the value and state portion of the FF signal to the IEC 61131 application and vice versa.

The CI860 is powered by the processor unit via the CEX bus, so no additional external power supply is required.

The CI860 works in redundancy mode

In redundant mode, up to 12 CI860 modules can be placed on an AC800M, each of which can be connected to the same or separate FOUNDATION fieldbus HSE subnet.

The ABB FOUNDATION fieldbus link device LD800HSE/LD 800HSE EX acts as a gateway between the HSE subnet and up to four separate H1 links.
