Westmore Ethernet extender technology is based on SHDSL and enables the reuse of many types of legacy copper cables, resulting in significant cost savings when installing new systems. The Wolverine DDW-242 is capable of creating highly efficient Ethernet networks over extremely long distances (up to 15 km (9.3 mi)), with data transfer rates up to 15.3 Mbit/s on a simple twisted-pair cable. By "gluing" twisted pair, this transfer rate can be doubled to 30.6 Mbit/s. An integrated switch can connect two Ethernet devices, and an RS-232 port can incorporate a legacy device into an IP network.

Using only industrial-grade components enables Wolverine's MTBF (mean time between failures) to reach 437,000 hours and ensures a long service life. There are no moving parts or cooling holes in the chassis, allowing for a wide operating temperature range - 40 to +70°C (-40 to +158°F). Wolverine has been tested by Westmore and external testing organizations to meet most EMC, isolation, vibration and shock standards to the highest level for heavy industry environments and rail side applications.

WeOS was developed by Westmore and enables us to provide cross-platform, future-proof solutions. WeOS provides IP security features unique to this category, such as the creation of a multi-port DMZ with firewall-based internal ports or Modbus gateway support.
