The Wolverine DDW-225 can cost-effectively set up Ethernet networks over long distances (up to 15 km) with data transmission rates up to 5.7 Mbit/s. SHDSL technology allows old cable lines to be reused, which can save a lot of money. Depending on the cable characteristics, the transmission distance can be up to 15 km (9.3 mi). The DDW-225 supports the WeOS operating system, making it easy to configure complex network functions. For simple applications, the DDW-225 does not even need to be configured, making it ideal for quick installation.
The DDW-225 is designed for heavy industrial applications with a rugged aluminum housing. A wide range of input power supplies and I/O alarm contacts make it easy to install and monitor in industrial applications. Transient blocking units (TBU) are considered the most effective way to prevent harmful noise spikes caused by lightning strikes or high-voltage equipment.
Using only industrial-grade components, the DDW-225 has an MTBF (mean time to failure) of 700,000 hours and ensures a long service life. The housing is designed without fans or heat dissipation holes to enable a wide operating temperature range - 40 to +70°C (-40 to +158°F). The DDW-225 has been tested by Westmore's internal and external testing facilities to meet most EMC, isolation, vibration and shock standards and to the highest levels for heavy industrial environments and railside applications.
WeOS, developed by Westmore, provides a cross-platform, future-proof solution. WeOS provides IP security features unique to this category, such as the creation of a multi-port DMZ using internal port-based firewall capabilities. Secure remote access to the network with an encrypted VPN.
Using the Westmore FRNT protocol or OSPF, DDW-225 ring networks can be constructed to achieve resilience. The DDW-225 can be used in enterprise networks. For more information on WeOS features, see the WeOS Parameter Table.
