The PAC8000 I/O is a fully modular I/O solution for general purpose and hazardous zone applications. It offers a variety of I/O functions and has an open architecture that allows communication with a variety of different fieldbuses by selecting the appropriate type of bus interface module (BIM) or controller.
Field terminals (one per I/O module) are clamped to the carrier and can accept field wiring without additional terminals or connections. If damaged in the field, they can be easily replaced. A comprehensive mechanical keying system ensures equipment safety.
The carrier plate forms the physical and electrical backbone of the PAC8000 by mounting on a flat plate or T - or G-shaped DIN rail. They support and interconnect BIM or controllers, power supplies, I/O modules, and field terminals, and carry the addresses, data, and power lines of the internal Railbus
