6½ bit, ±300 V, on-board 1.8 MS/s Isolation Digitizer, PXI Digital Multimeter - The PXI-4070 is a high-performance 6½ bit 300 V DMM that offers the measurement capabilities of two commonly used test instruments: the high-resolution DMM and the Digitizer. As a DMM, the PXI‑4070 provides fast and accurate AC/DC voltage, AC/DC current, 2-wire or 4-wire resistance, frequency/period measurement, and diode testing. In high voltage isolation digitizer mode, the PXI‑4070 is capable of acquiring waveforms at a sample rate of 1.8 MS/s.

The NI PXI-4070 (Part number: 778274-01) 6.5-bit FlexDMM delivers high throughput while maintaining accuracy and stable estimates. Using National Instruments' restrictive FlexDMM innovation, the digital multimeter offers a fully self-contained high-voltage digitizer capable of acquiring waveforms at sampling rates of up to 1.8 MS/s across all voltage and current ratings. Using the analysis capabilities provided in NI LabVIEW programming, users can parse these waveforms in both time and frequency space. The NI PXI-4070 DMM's ultra-fast accuracy and functionality make it ideal for computerized testing on the production floor and in R&D applications.


PXI 4070 National Instruments works with NI-DMM, an IVI conformance driver that provides access to the full functionality of DMM through an easy-to-use application programming interface (API). It is compatible with C/C++,.NET, Visual Basic, LabVIEW and LabWindows/CVI. The unit also offers a 1.8 MS/s flexible resolution isolation digitizer and can change the resolution of the FlexDMM from 10 bits to 23 bits by changing the sampling rate. In addition, the digital multimeter includes a unique multi-instrument capability that limits general frame costs by eliminating the need to purchase different data acquisition equipment, signal conditioning, clamps, etc.
