Woodward's UG "universal" governor is a mechanical hydraulic governor used to control a diesel, gas or dual-fuel engine or steam turbine. This tried-and-tested design has been the industry standard for many years and is readily available in most engine and governor workshops globally recognized.
The UG governor has its own independent fuel supply and is driven by a suitable UG driver for the engine or turbine. They can operate synchronously or droop and have a variety of optional functions for generators, pumps, Marine propulsion and other applications. The UG governor has a maximum drive speed of 1500 to 1600 rpm.
Functionalities:
Speed or Power Control: The UG-10D regulates the speed (RPM) or power output of the prime mover by adjusting the fuel supply.
Hydraulic Operation: The governor uses a self-contained hydraulic system to actuate the fuel control mechanism.
